1. Acceptance of these terms

By downloading, installing, or using Wattdex 抓電獸 ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms form a legal agreement between you and TechnicolorLife LLC ("TechnicolorLife," "we," "us"). They are separate from, and in addition to, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also governs your use of the App as described in Section 12 below.

2. What Wattdex is

Wattdex is a household electricity cost estimator designed for Taiwan. It lets you build a list of your home appliances — by photographing nameplates or energy-efficiency labels, or by entering values manually — and estimates monthly electricity usage and cost using Taiwan Power Company's published progressive tariff. The App also includes optional calculators (such as appliance-replacement payback and saving-rewards estimates), energy-saving tips, and local reminders.

3. Estimates only — not billing, financial, or professional advice

All figures produced by the App are estimates. They are calculated from the appliance data you enter, typical-usage assumptions, and the tariff tables published by Taiwan Power Company (台灣電力公司, "Taipower") at the time the App version was released. Actual electricity charges are determined solely by Taipower's own metering, billing periods, and applicable tariffs, and may differ — sometimes significantly — from the App's estimates. Figures relating to government subsidies, tax refunds, or utility reward programs are informational summaries only; eligibility, amounts, and deadlines are determined solely by the relevant government agency or utility. Do not rely on the App as the basis for financial, purchasing, or contractual decisions. Verify important figures against your actual bill and official sources.

4. Not affiliated with Taipower

Wattdex is an independent product of TechnicolorLife LLC. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Taiwan Power Company or any government agency. References to Taipower tariffs, subsidy programs, or reward programs are descriptive and based on publicly available information, which may change without notice.

5. Rate tables may become outdated

Electricity tariffs in Taiwan are reviewed periodically and may change. The App ships with the tariff tables current at the time of release and is updated on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee that the rates inside the App reflect the latest published tariffs at any given moment.

6. Eligibility and age

You must be at least 13 years old to use Wattdex. If you are under the age of 16 and live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you represent that you have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the App.

7. Your data

You own the data you enter into Wattdex. The App stores everything locally on your device; there is no account, no login, and no TechnicolorLife-hosted copy of your data. See the Privacy Policy for complete details.

8. Acceptable use

You agree to use Wattdex only for its intended purpose as a personal electricity estimation tool. You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the extent applicable law expressly prohibits such restriction.
  • Copy, modify, redistribute, sublicense, sell, rent, or lease the App or any part of it.
  • Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice.
  • Use the App in any way that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law.
  • Represent the App's estimates as official Taipower billing information.

9. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, text, mascot characters, logo, and all other content (except content you create), is the property of TechnicolorLife LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the Apple Licensed Application EULA.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TECHNICOLORLIFE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT THE APP'S ESTIMATES, RATE TABLES, OR OTHER CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE, CURRENT, ERROR-FREE, OR RELIABLE. YOU USE THE APP AT YOUR OWN RISK.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TECHNICOLORLIFE LLC AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING (WITHOUT LIMITATION) ANY PURCHASING, BILLING, OR FINANCIAL DECISION MADE IN RELIANCE ON ESTIMATES SHOWN IN THE APP, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, AND WHETHER OR NOT TECHNICOLORLIFE HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Apple EULA and App Store

The App is distributed through Apple's App Store. Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Apple is not a party to these Terms, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App, and is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Apple EULA with respect to your use of the App, the Apple EULA governs to the extent of the conflict.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TechnicolorLife LLC and its owners, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use or misuse of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

14. Export compliance

You agree to comply with all U.S. and foreign export laws and regulations to ensure that neither the App nor any technical data related to it is exported or re-exported directly or indirectly in violation of, or used for any purposes prohibited by, such laws and regulations.

15. Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Apple Licensed Application EULA, constitute the entire agreement between you and TechnicolorLife regarding the App and supersede any prior agreements between you and TechnicolorLife relating to the App.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms over time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will give you clear notice in the App or on technicolorlife.app before they take effect. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
