At a glance

  • No accounts, no passwords. Vamoose has no login. It uses your device's own iCloud identity, so there is no "Vamoose account," no email, and no password to create.
  • Your data lives in your iCloud, not on our servers. Everything you record is stored on your device and, when iCloud is available, in your own private iCloud space through Apple's CloudKit. TechnicolorLife has no servers that hold your ledger and no way to read it.
  • Family sharing goes through Apple's iCloud. When you invite a family member, Apple shares that ledger between your iCloud accounts. The data flows through Apple, not through us. TechnicolorLife still cannot see it.
  • Analytics are anonymous. We use TelemetryDeck to count basic usage events. No expense amounts, notes, category totals, names, budgets, or anything you type ever leaves your device through analytics.
  • No ads, no tracking. Vamoose contains no advertising SDK and does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA).
  • You are in control. You can edit or delete any entry at any time, turn iCloud sync off in iOS Settings, stop sharing a ledger, and uninstalling the App removes its local data.

1. Who this policy is from

Vamoose 開去叨 ("the App") is made by TechnicolorLife LLC ("we," "us," or "TechnicolorLife"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how it is handled, and what your rights are. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

2. What Vamoose is for

Vamoose is a family expense tracker. You record daily spending, set an optional monthly budget, group spending into trips, and track fixed/recurring costs; the App shows monthly and yearly breakdowns and can export a PDF report. You can invite family members so everyone shares one ledger, similar to sharing a spreadsheet — without anyone creating an account.

3. Information the App handles

Below is every category of data the App handles. Apart from the anonymous analytics signals described in Section 3.5, nothing is transmitted to TechnicolorLife. Your content moves only between your own device and your own (and any family members' you invite) iCloud, through Apple.

3.1 Records you create

When you use the App, it stores what you enter: expense entries (amount, category, optional note, date), an optional monthly budget, trips (name and emoji), and fixed/recurring costs (name, amount, category, cycle, dates). It also stores an optional display name and avatar you may choose so a family member can see who last edited a shared entry. This data is saved in the App's local database on your device and, when iCloud is enabled, in your private iCloud space (see Section 4). It is never uploaded to TechnicolorLife.

3.2 Family sharing (Apple CKShare)

Vamoose has no login and never asks for your email or password. If you choose to invite a family member, the App uses Apple's built-in iCloud sharing (CKShare) to share a ledger between your iCloud account and theirs. From that point on, the people you invite can view and edit that shared ledger, and their changes sync to you — all through Apple's iCloud, not through any TechnicolorLife server. The optional display name you set is visible to the family members you share with (for example, in the "just updated" hint). In the Family screen you may also see the name or email a family member's Apple ID exposes to a shared invitation; that participant information is provided by Apple as part of iCloud sharing and is not collected or stored by TechnicolorLife. You can stop sharing at any time. Sharing is governed by Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy.

3.3 Notifications (local only)

If you turn on due-date reminders for a fixed/recurring cost, the App schedules local notifications through iOS. These are created and delivered on your device and are not routed through any TechnicolorLife server. You can disable them in the App or in iOS Settings → Notifications → Vamoose.

3.4 Settings and preferences

Your in-app preferences — display name, avatar, currency symbol, app language, which ledger is active, and whether reminders or auto-logging are enabled — are stored locally on your device (and, where they belong to shared data, in iCloud with it).

3.5 Anonymous analytics (TelemetryDeck)

Vamoose uses TelemetryDeck to understand how many people use the App and which features they reach. TelemetryDeck is designed to contain no personal data: it hashes a device-level identifier client-side and never transmits any identifiable information. The only signals Vamoose sends are basic events such as "expense added," "trip created," "recurring cost added," "family invite started," "share accepted," "report exported" (with the type — month or year), "budget set" (only whether one was set, never the amount), "currency changed," and "language changed." We never send expense amounts, notes, budgets, category totals, ledger contents, trip or recurring-cost names, family member identities, or anything you type in the App. You can block telemetrydeck.com on your network to opt out entirely.

3.6 Nothing else

The App does not collect or handle passwords, precise or coarse location, contacts, photos, health data, financial account credentials, payment card data, browsing history, device identifiers for tracking, or any other category of personal information beyond what is described above.

4. Where your data lives

Your data lives in two places, both outside TechnicolorLife's reach:

  • On your device — in the App's local database, inside iOS's encrypted application sandbox.
  • In your own iCloud — when iCloud is available, the App syncs your data through Apple's CloudKit to your private iCloud database (so it stays in sync across your own Apple devices), and, for any ledger you share, to a shared iCloud database that only you and the family members you invite can access. This is your and your family's iCloud space. TechnicolorLife has no access to it and no way to read it. iCloud sync and sharing are governed by Apple's iCloud terms.

There is no "Vamoose account," no cloud login with us, and no TechnicolorLife-hosted database. You can turn iCloud sync off in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Apps using iCloud → Vamoose. If you uninstall the App, iOS removes its local data; data already synced to your iCloud is managed by your iCloud settings.

5. How your information is used

  • To show your ledger and produce the monthly and yearly breakdowns, budget indicator, and PDF reports — on your device.
  • To sync your data across your own devices, and to share a ledger with the family members you choose, through your iCloud.
  • To deliver the local reminders you turn on.
  • To understand, in aggregate and anonymously via TelemetryDeck, which features people use so we can improve the App.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, training machine learning models, or selling to third parties.

6. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

If you are located in a jurisdiction where GDPR or an equivalent law applies, the legal bases for processing are: performance of a contract (storing and syncing the records you create so the App can show them to you and the family you share with), your consent (notification access, prompted by iOS and revocable at any time in iOS Settings; and your choice to invite a family member), and legitimate interests (anonymous, aggregated usage analytics via TelemetryDeck, which contains no personal data and which you can opt out of as described in Section 3.5). iCloud storage and sharing are provided by Apple as your data controller/processor under Apple's own terms.

7. Your rights

Because your data stays in your device and your own iCloud, you exercise your rights directly in the App:

  • Access and rectification — every entry is visible in the App and can be edited.
  • Erasure — delete any entry, trip, or recurring cost; delete the App to remove its local data; and manage synced data in your iCloud settings.
  • Stop sharing — end family sharing of a ledger at any time.
  • Withdraw consent — revoke notification permission, or turn off iCloud sync, at any time in iOS Settings.
  • Complaint — if you believe we have handled data improperly, you may contact your local data protection authority.

8. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

TechnicolorLife does not collect, sell, or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. Your ledger stays in your device and your own iCloud; there is nothing for us to sell or share because we do not receive it.

9. Children's privacy

Vamoose is a general-audience utility app and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. It has no accounts and does not ask for personal details. All content stays in the device and iCloud of the person who entered it.

10. Security

App data is stored in iOS's encrypted application sandbox and benefits from device-level encryption when you set a passcode. Data synced through iCloud is protected by Apple's iCloud encryption in transit and at rest. TelemetryDeck signals are transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. No method of storage is 100% secure: if your device or your iCloud account is lost, stolen, or compromised, data associated with it may also be compromised. Set a strong device passcode, enable Face ID or Touch ID, and protect your Apple ID with two-factor authentication.

11. International data transfer

Your content is stored and synced through Apple's iCloud infrastructure; where Apple stores and transfers iCloud data is governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy. For anonymous TelemetryDeck analytics, TelemetryDeck processes data in the European Union; see their privacy policy for details.

12. Data retention

Your records and settings stay in the App and your iCloud until you delete them, uninstall the App, or remove them from your iCloud. Ending family sharing stops future syncing; each person keeps their own copy of what was shared unless they delete it. TelemetryDeck retains the anonymous signals described in Section 3.5 according to their own retention policy, and the signals cannot be tied back to you.

13. App Tracking Transparency

Vamoose does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. We do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and do not integrate advertising SDKs. The App will never show you an App Tracking Transparency prompt because there is no tracking to ask about.

14. Third-party services

  • Apple iCloud / CloudKit — provides the private and shared syncing that stores your data in your own iCloud space and enables family sharing. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and iCloud terms.
  • TelemetryDeck — used for anonymous, aggregated usage analytics. See their privacy policy.

We have no other third-party processors. We do not use advertising, crash-reporting-with-PII, or marketing automation services.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy over time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will give you clear notice in the App and on technicolorlife.app before they take effect.
